CANCUUUUN :D mehico

HEYYYY!!!
So we went on a one hour flight to panamaaaa and then went straight (i mean literally ran from our gate to the next flight) to Cancun on a 2 hour flight with copa airlines. It was amazing flying into Panama, we could see the massive skyrises in the central city, and we flew right across the panama canal and could see hundreds of ships waiting to dock and pass through! Wow. Copa airlines gave us great food haha even on the one and two hour flights they gave us drinks, sanwiches, croissants, chips and oreos! AIR NZ needs to learn off them haha.

SO, we got to Cancun and got a shuttle thingy to the ADO bus station where we jumped straight on a bus to Piste, which took 4 and a half hours, a small town in which we were staying near the Mayan ruins at Chichen~Itza. Bliss hotel, two rooms and a double bed each! hehe. Got up early (7) the next morning, the 6th, (dans birthday) had a three course breakfast with beans, eggs, fruit, bacon, fresh bread and jams and juices at the hotel restaurant and was picked up by a guide who drove us at 8am to Chichen~Itza.

The ruins there were absolutely AMAZING. It was really interesting to find out all about why they were built and what they were used for, and they were all covered with complex engravings and were gigantic. We had a tour for about 2 and a half hours and then found this little alcove where there was no rope to stop tourists from climbing on, so we scrambled up a metre or so on this ruin to take a picture. Then these security guards came over and escorted us off the Chichen~Itza premises hahahhahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahaha not too good -_- and that was the end of that.

We walked around Piste and then took a first class bus back to central cancun (3 hours ride) and after half an hour of sorting out where we actually were, walked another forty five mins or so to our hotel in cancun, called the Terracaribe. Tired. Went to bed.

Today we got up and fluffed around for aaaaaaaaaages and finally caught the local bus for a dollar each to the cancun "hotel zone" which is where all the rich fat americans come and pay 2000 a night to stay in flash hotels. It was amazing haha they were maaaaaassive and there were hundreds of them c: We went to the beach which was spectacular, gorgeous white sand stretching for aaaaages and the sea was bright blue and really clear! Went for a swim and had a walk down the beach and hopped on the bus to a massive touristy mall for lunch. More walking and on another bus to the centre of cancun (which by the way means serpents nest) and went to le supermarket which was soooooooooo cheap! Like 80 cents for iced tea. like 40 cents for a pack of oreos. Epic, no wonder how its easy to get fat here haha. ANOTHER bus back to our hotel and here i am :) hehe.
