today was fucking amazing.
Got up, caught a bus to the ferry terminal and caught a ferry out to Isla Mujeres, the island of women, at about 9am. As soon as we got there heaps of guides were nagging us for us to come on a tour and after finding further information we finally decided to go with one, out on a small as boat to the coral reefs not far from shore. We went snorkelling around the lighthouse and other coral islands and saw heaps and heaps of colourful fish and they weren't even scared of us. We saw barracuda sharks, puffer fish, catfish, rainbow fish, crocodile fish and hundreds of other schools of them, even a small mantaray, along with beautiful coral. We sailed out to this underwater museum which consists of hundreds of statues a few metres under the water, which is completely clear everywhere with bright white sand. On the way back we stopped at a dolphin enclosure and watched people swim with them, and them doing tricks. We also stopped at an enclosure and had our photo taken with this aggressive nurse shark thing which was maaaaaaassive and sailed past a turtle research centre thingy. On the way back we did some more snorkelling also, it was soooo awesome!
We got off the boat and ate some delicious chicken burritos and then rented a golf cart to travel round the rest of the island for a couple of hours which was coooool, saw a gorgeous sunset :) hehe. We hopped back on the boat at 6:30 or something and caught another bus back to our hotel and here i am :L
